pon...and...zi

My friends and I have taken part in the National day parade last year and we played the roles of skyrunners. In case you do not know what skyrunners are, they are actually a group of people who equip on powerisers. powerisers are a sort of equipment which you attach to your legs. It is pretty much like stilts, just that there are springs which help you to jump. With these powerisers, I can jump to a height of more than 2 metres. This is what a poweriser looks like:

The picture below are what skyrunners look like:

Not many people know about powerisers because it has not really been introduced to Singapore yet. However, some of the East Coast Park's stalls provide poweriser renting services.
Today, after church, a group of us met up and went to East Coast Park to play with our powerisers. We were really excited because this was the first time where we were going in such a big group to skyrun. My friend and I imagined the amounts of questions that will be shot at us because the people will be stunned upon looking at the powerisers. We expected them to ask," What are these called? How do you get them?" and also " isit hard to use it? what do you do on it?"
We boarded a bus and arrived in East Coast Park shortly after. Pulling our heavy powerisers behind us, we dragged it off the bus and into the park. we decided to start off from Bedok camp which was at the far end of East Coast Park. As we wore on out powerisers, many passer-bys stopped to look at us. Some of them even took out their cameras and started shooting pictures of us down. We did not say much but smiled sweetly.
Before long, all of us were ready and up, preparing for a long day ahead. Though some of us had difficulty standing up, we managed to overcome our fear and with courage, stood up on the powerisers. There was this little boy who looked at me , shocked, he asked his father ," Daddy, why are these people so tall."
I could tell that the father didn't really knew how to answer because he just told his son that we were aliens.
As we moved along the road as a group, we attracted many pairs of eyes and lots of "ooos" and "aaas". we also recieved many questions, one of them asked me," Hi, erm may I know what are these"
I replied,"these are powerisers, they were used in NDP last year."
" Is it very hard to use them? what do you do on them?"
" we can jump, run, hop and flip and it is not very hard with practise"
"Okay, thanks."
I did not know why, i felt good when people asked me questions.Haha...
We walked all the way from Bedok camp to Macdonalds. Halfway through, I slipped upon a wrapper and fell flat on the ground. The girls were screaming while the boys wer laughing, I didn't know what to feel, embarassed? I was not really feeling pain because i had Gaurds On. I have a few pictures of me falling down and trying to get up below.

Basically we had lots of fun and we got really tired after that, due to the fact that we have walked over 10 km on powerisers. Though we were walking, It was still very tiring because we are actually using twice the amount of energy used in normal walking. Whenever I have time, I would meet up with some of my friends to skyrun together, it is a really interesting sport and it is best played together with friends and family. It is more of a youth sport and I enjoy it with my friends. We also try out different stunts but most of the time, we fail in doing them, however, we never fail to stop trying.

Through this sport, it has actually taught me to never give up when I am faced with difficulties, just like the first time i tried to stand up, even though i failed, I did not give up but continued to work hard and strive for my goals.
